Rivers/Flood Control |
| Recent changes to the world climate are associated with an apparent rise in the incidence of climate disasters such as flooding and drought. We propose comprehensive flood control measures that combine traditional infrastructure-based approaches such as bank protection and construction of levees and discharge pump stations with non-physical measures such as strengthening of government- and community-level immediate relief and evacuation schemes incorporating forecast and warning communication systems. We also assist with the maintenance and management of river and sediment control structures that are reaching the end of their service lives. We also assist with the conservation and recovery of the biological environment. Rivers play a vital role in human society as a source of fresh water. With a holistic view towards the development and management of water resources, we aim to contribute to solving water problems in Japan and around the world. |

Waterworks and Sewerage |
|
Access to clean water is essential for human life. We strive to ensure safe and reliable water supplies and abundant and sound water circulation through surveys, planning, design, construction supervision, and advice for maintenance and management of both waterworks and sewerage. Waterworks include water sources, water purification plants, and piping systems, while sewerage includes systems for urban rainwater and sewage effluent. Paying particular attention to local legal systems, financial and social conditions, and technical matters, we help clients reduce the project lifecycle cost and, if necessary, consider the viability of applying private finance initiative (PFI) and public-private partnership (PPP) approaches. We can also assist to lower the water leakage ratio, develop treated wastewater reusage schemes, and make effective use of the sludge generated by treatment plants. |
